City Guide -Stirling

Full of historic interest, Scotland's heritage capital runs down from its guardian castle through the Old Town, providing a 3D history lesson.

In Stirling you're at the start of a historical trail of bloody battles and drama. Visit Bannockburn, site of the 1314 victory that secured the Scottish throne for Robert the Bruce and an independent Scotland. The Wallace Monument offers an excellent view of the stunning surrounding countryside. The Ochil Hills are heaven for walkers and mountain bikers, while the adjacent Trossachs region is known as "the Highlands in miniature". Mountains, lochs, forests and superb walks can be found here.
