Glamis
The castle – whose name is pronounced ‘glamz’ – was the childhood home of the Queen Mother and birthplace of Princess Margaret. It is reputed to be the most haunted stately home in Britain and was supposedly the setting for Shakespeare’s tragedy, ‘Macbeth.’
