Scotland is an ideal country for a getaway place for a corporate meeting, staging a conference or a wedding. Companies like the idea of getting their key staff together either in a city with plenty of evening entertainment, restaurant and visitor attractions. They may like some "thinking time" in a castle, a country house hotel, a sporting lodge hidden up a glen or on an island such as the Hebrides, Skye or Orkney. Many venues have excellent "in house" facilities or will be able to arrange them. Scotland has many dedicated conference venues - there are large facilities such as the Edinburgh Conference Centre or the SECC in Glasgow. These can accommodate a few thousand delegates with good hotels nearby. Smaller conferences can be held in towns and villages with good halls and local hotels and guest houses. Many country house hotels have excellent facilities with good value catering, break out rooms and can organise backup facilities with projectors and sound systems. Scotland in becoming the in place for weddings - an
elopement to Gretna Green where Scotland is less restrictive than
England or a grand affair using one of Scotland's many castles or
lovely country house hotels. Skibo Castle

instance. Most communities in Scotland are not far from an airport
and on the mainland, a rail station served by ScotRail, Virgin
Trains or GNER. British Airways, Ryanair and easyJet all have
regular flights.
